Today October 11 2013 is the international day of the girl Child. This year’s celebrations focuses on Innovating for Girl’s education.

The day will provide a platform to highlight the importance of girl education in any society and measures that must be adopted to increase to help get more girls to school of keep them there.

We at Iroko Africa have our own girl model 22 year old Julie Wangombe from Kenya.

She describes herself as a “spoken word artist” and wrote the victory speech of Kenya’s president Uhuru Kenyatta
