Sierra Leone/UK: Julian S Sandi releases new Afrobeat single
London based actor/singer Julian Seven Sandi from Freetown in Sierra Leone has released his latest single titled “Sweet Soo”. The Afro beat singer is a graduate of music from London Metropolitan University and says the sky is his limit as far as music is concerned. On what message the song carries, he tells Iroko Africa ;
“In “Sweet Soo”, I am simply trying to encourage people to enjoy themselves while listening to Afro beats at a party or by themselves. As a new up in coming Afro beats artist my vision is to uplift people through my music and be a positive influence on the youth. As I am originally from Sierra Leone. Music is a powerful tool for communication.
I was inspired by Bob Marley to explore my creative ability in music. I am an independent artist seeking support”

Ghana Music awards London scheduled for tomorrow
Ghana Music Awards Europe will take place tomorrow Friday August 9th 2013 at the prestigious Indigo2 venue in London. Hundreds of celebrities, footballers, actors, entertainers and the press are expected to grace the red carpet occasion.

South Africa Mercedes Benz Fashion show to start off shortly.
The Mercedes-Benz Cape Town fashion week opens today in South Africa and will run until Saturday August 10th 2013.
Some of South Africa’s best known designers and up and coming ones will be revealing their spring collections on the catwalk. The event comes shortly after some of the designers were in London for the African Fashion week.
Some of the designers who will be showing off their new designs include Thula Sindi, Craig Port, Rosenwerth, Habits and Lalesso (previously called La Kanga), Mr Price & Elle New talent Award winners Anisa Malembo Mpungwe (Loin Cloth & Ashes) and Marize Malan (Morphe) are just two of the up-and-coming designers who will be joining the elite crew of trendy exhibitors at this annual couture conference.
