Malawi Voxes. Should pop stars expect VIP Treatment after Adopting Children from a poor Country?
Eyong Elvis. Douala, Cameroon
Madonna cannot expect VIP treatment from Malawi simply because she adopted two kids from the country.
Each country has specific adoption laws. I don’t personally see anything wrong for aliens to adopt African kids as long as the kids will be cared for by the adopted parents.

There is no question that Malawi and many other countries around the globe – not just in Africa – benefit from the philanthropy of mega-stars like Madonna. It is the responsibility of the local authorities to manage PR to their advantage, bring whatever donations tactfully in line with policy and in turn attract even more goodwill. Too often, backwater bureaucrats with axes to grind or simply looking to fatten their budgets discourage initiative where it should be fostered and perpetually focus on the hole in the donut. One classroom more is one classroom more!
Lucy Abong, 40+ – Respect Africans
I don’t know about the story, but what I know is that Madonna is a big musician. If she has decided to help poor African children then that is good, but she should not impose on us.
Ndam Edward 33 – Businessman – Give her some respect,
Madonna is a great musician and if she has decided to help some of our very poor African brothers and sisters, then we should give her to some respect.
Ayuk Enoch, 42 –Teacher -Why all the publicity
Many of us Africans also help children from poor families, For example here in Douala, (Cameroon) I have two children staying with me with whom I have any blood relations, should I be making too much noise about that?

If Madonna is a symbol of feminism and woman emancipation, and has achived a lot as a woman, It is right she is given VIP treatment wherever she goes, including Malawi. She will be an inspiration to the Children as they are growing up. Madonna is free to adopt as many children as she wants

There is a saying that goes ” you scratch my back, I scratch your back”. Madonna is asking for VIP treatment is that all? The Malawian gov’t should throw in a red carpet reception to add the icing on the cake. If that is what it take to give orphans a chance in life, then they should go for it.
Is a capitalist world we are living in today and most of our action is driven by profits. What we are gaining from what we are doing determine the reasons to fight or work for something.
The President should put aside her selfish tovivations and give Malawian orphans a good start in life.
