Nigerian high life hip hop “king” Flavour Nabania has flown back home after his highly successful performances in Cameroon’s economic capital Douala and the nation’s capital Yaoundé over the weekend.
Not for the first time this year, Flavour was in the country after J&B and CY Entertainment partnered to bring him back following popular demand from fans who are apparently not tired of seeing the electrifying “ Ashawo master” on stage.
More than 10.000 fans most of them young holiday makers were on hand at Parcours Vita in Douala on thursday August 29th 2013 to listen as Flavour played some of his favourites songs including “Ashawo” and “Ada Ada”.
He was supported by local musicians including “Hein pere” master Stanley Enow, NESCAFE winners Da Thrill, Michael Kwessou, Numerica, Duc-Z, Cool and Prosby. They used the occasion to promote some of their new releases with one fan describing the performance of Enow Stanley as “beastly”. The audience shouted and danced with him as he performed his best known song “hein pere”
Flavour, the star of the night did not disappoint either. Fans who were earlier angry with the late start of the show and power cuts were compensated when he went on stage and as always sang and danced and mingled with the crowds. He selected a few girls to dance with him on stage as he often does during his performances.
Thousands of other “Flavourites” (die hard Flavour fans) jammed the Yaounde palaise de Sports two days later on Saturday August 30 2013 for a repeat performance. Only the prompt action of security guards prevented excited fans from jumping on stage to touch, dance and take pictures with the star from Nigeria
Most of the supporting local acts in Douala also performed before Flavour in Yaounde.
Flavour flew to Cameroon from Ghana where he held similar performances. Since releasing “Ashawo”, he has performed in more than twenty African countries, in Europe and in the USA.
