Profile. Meet Diana Tambe; Model, Designer, Stylist
Her favourite quote defines her driving force; “if loving fashion is a crime, I plead guilty”. Stylish, articulate and a workaholic, Diana will do anything to get what she wants. She is now an accomplished model, fashion designer and event’s organizer. From November 1-3, she will bring everybody who is anybody in African fashion from the continent and the diaspora to the World Fashion Centre for the first ever African Fashion Week Amsterdam (AFWA) in The Netherlands
Born 24 years ago in Yaounde, the capital of the West African country of Cameroon, Diana is one of the five children of Tambe Samuel and Mary Cho. She attended primary and secondary schools in Cameroon before her family relocated to The Netherlands in 2004 where she continued her high school education. She is presently a student at the London Metropolitan University.
She owns a fashion design company known as Blackpearl Secrets and designs. She designs high-end designs mostly for celebrities but occasionally also does design for the general public.
From her internet platform Blackpearlsecret.com, she gives people with an eye for the latest fashion trend, a chance to order online any design trend they want produced at affordable prices.
D T Blackpearl also provides bookings for Photo-shoots, catwalks, movies, music videos, events hosting and product promotion.
She became a model at the age of 16 when her uncle registered her in a modelling agency in Amsterdam.
Diana is one of the top 5 fashionista Afro divas’ in the Netherlands and most prominent Cameroonian fashion and commercial Top model in the Netherlands.
Two years after she first nurtured the idea, Diana will finally organize the first ever African Fashion Week Amsterdam (AFWA) at the World Fashion Centre from November 1 – 3 2013.
The event will bring together African designers, models, stylists and stake holders in the African fashion industry in and out of the continent to showcase the best that African has to offer in the fashion industry.
African fashion styles that will be on display during the event will include agbada, Dashiki, African print caftans, boubou, Lace Materials, African Prints, Damask, MudCloth apparel and accessories.
Diana is an exquisite black African woman who will stand out in any crowd because of her trademark high heels; she has a truck load of high heels in all shapes and colours.
