Both might be relatively new to the music scene in their respective countries but Zambian hip hop musician Silverman Zambia and Cameroon girl band Afrigirl will soon collaborate on a new single.
The single titled Change our world was written by Silverman when he was just 15 years old and will be produced by Jaam Fon, songwriter and manager of Afrigirl.
The new single by Afrigirl Dancify has been received with rave reviews in Cameroon. Silverman’ last single titled Locomotion is getting adequate air play on Zambian radio stations since its release last weekend.
On why he chooses to do a duet with Afrigirl, Silverman said;
“I think Afrigirl is a blessed and talented band. I like their music very much and like me, they like singing about a United Africa”.
Silverman has also done other duets including one with Angolan musician J-Waander on his latest song Locomotion.
Asked why he likes singing duets with other musicians, Silverman said, “…duets help bridge gaps and unites both artists and their fans together… they also help in sharing new ideas and musical tastes”.
Jaam Fon Afrigirl producer is presently fine tuning the song Change the world and is excited at the prospect of collaboration between silverman and the girl band;
“Change our world is going to be an exciting challenging collaboration with Silverman. We are still working on the song but fans can expect a sweet blend of Afro-soul music with RNB, neatly urban and African at the same time, reflecting the emotions and imagery of the lyrics”.
